Today, during the report to the population on the work done for the 2020-2021 academic year, the rector of Amanzholov University Mukhtar Tolegen reported on the progress of the development of science and the implementation of scientific projects of the university.

– Over the past three years, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the University has implemented 26 grant projects worth 1 billion 200 million tenge and 18 contractual projects worth 127 million tenge, as well as five projects of international programs and funds. I would like to note that the funding of science is 13 times higher than in 2018 and now amounts to 1 billion 400 million tenge–" Mukhtar Tolegen said.

According to the rector, in order to strengthen the scientific base and carry out research work, more than 40 items of scientific equipment were purchased for a total of 92 million tenge in the 2020-2021 academic year alone.

- Since 2012, the number of scientific publications in the scientometric databases Web of Science, Scopus has increased 20 times. Not a bad indicator of the growth of the Hirsch index among the teaching staff, if in 2017 there were seven people, then in the 2020-2021 academic year – 68. The university implements international projects on Erasmus+: "An integrated approach to the training of STEM teachers" and a scientific and educational project on grant funding of the Jean Monnet Erasmus+ program "Digital Humanities in the Republic of Kazakhstan: Local Solutions for Global Problems (for 2020-2023)," Mukhtar Tolegen stressed.

It should be noted that the university also works with scientific institutes and enterprises of the region, creating research and production clusters. In recent years, communication has also strengthened with large enterprises of East Kazakhstan region - JSC TMK, JSC KAZZINC, JSC UMZ, JSC KAZ Minerals and other enterprises.
