Students of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University participated at the championship of Asia in arm wrestling. In the United Arab Emirates students of the university Margarita Shormanova, Nikolai Mrzagairayev, Ruslan Baigukshinov participated. All three athletes are studying in the educational program "Physical Education and Sports".

According to the results of the championship third-year student Margarita Shormanova took second place in the weight category of 60 kg on the right hand.

Nikolay Mrzagaraev won first place on both hands among young people up to 75 kg.

Also in this weight category he took first place among adults on the left hand and second place on the right hand in the weight category up to 80 kg. Another our athlete Ruslan Baygukshinov was also among the leaders. He took the first place in the wrestling on the right hand in the 70 kg weight category and became a five-time champion of Asia.
Athletes from more than 15 countries competed at the Asian championships, which were held from April to May. Among them the strongest were from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Japan.
