28.11.2018 EKSU is training demanded professionals who own soft skills EKSU named after S. Amanzholov today implements educational programs whose main goal is to form specialists for the innovative development of Kazakhstan, who possess high-level soft skills and are in demand in the regional and republican labor market. According to the Mckinsey Global Institute, by 2030 more than 60 occupations will disappear, from 400 to 800 million people will lose jobs due to the introduction of innovative technologies and robotics. This is due to the fact that there is a demand for new skills and capabilities of people who will not be subject to machines. The World Economic Forum identified the top 10 such skills in 2020: problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, people management, interaction with people, emotional intelligence, decision making, service orientation, negotiations, thinking flexibility. All these skills are soft skills (social and psychological skills that will be useful in most situations of life: communication, leadership, team, public, "muscular"). According to the majority of employers, the availability of soft skills among graduates of a university is more in demand than hard skills (professional knowledge and skills that will be needed at work and in performing business processes). In accordance with this, the East Kazakhstan State University named after S.Amanzholov implements educational programs, the main purpose of which is to form specialists for the innovative development of Kazakhstan, who possess high-level soft skills and are in demand in the regional and republican labor market. The result of this joint activity with employers was the development of 5 new educational programs in 5 months of 2018. Thus, in order to implement the state program “Digital Kazakhstan” for 2017-2020, the “Roadmap for the development of human capital for the digital economy for 2018-2020” and other state programs, from September 1, 2018, the university implements 3 unique for the field of innovative educational programs: "Digital humanities", "Computer mechatronics", "Improving physical culture". It is worth noting that in Kazakhstan innovative (experimental) educational programs are being implemented so far only by 10 universities. By the way, at present, the university is developing a number of innovative educational programs: “Clinical Psychology”, “Library and Information Activities”, “Chemical Forensic Examination”, which are planned to be launched in September 2019. Since September 2018, the preparation of future teachers for the educational programs "Chemistry", "Biology", "Mathematics", "Informatics" in English has begun. “... Higher education institutions need to update their curricula and become centers for the dissemination of the most advanced knowledge and best practices in the agro-industrial complex,” the Head of State N.A. Nazarbayev. In this regard, the EKSU named after S.Amanzholov started the implementation of a relevant for the region educational program "Hunting and animal breeding." The preparation of the infrastructure for the opening of another popular specialty - "Agronomy". The training of specialists in these areas will allow, given the peculiarities of the region as one of the agricultural centers of the Republic, to meet the growing demand of the labor market in practice-oriented competent specialists. Another major area of activity, designated by N.Nazarbayev, is to ensure the quality of training of medical personnel, to promote a healthy lifestyle. The development of two new educational programs 5В110300 - Pharmacy, 5В051102 - Public Health, the implementation of which is planned in the near future, is aimed at solving this task. In accordance with the core values of the state program “Ruhani zhangyru”, the development of educational programs “Archeology and Ethnology”, “Philosophy”, “Religious Studies”, and “Culturology” has begun, which are also planned to be implemented from September 2019. In addition, taking into account the undoubted demand for competent specialists in various areas of the economy, the development of educational programs "Power", "Automation and Control". In order to develop the demanded competencies of graduates, a practice-oriented environment is formed at the university. On 17 specialties, elements of dual education have been introduced, 29 branches of departments are operating, which, along with substantial academic work, are the bases for students' ongoing professional practice and, at the same time, for vocational guidance work. From January 2019, the university will begin the implementation of another major international project involving more than 9 European countries under the Erasmus + program: “An integrated approach to training STEM teachers”, which will make it possible to develop methodological tools for training new specialists. The following facts testify to the demand for programs implemented by the S.Amanzholov EKSU. 1) educational programs in the pedagogical direction are annually included in the top three according to the results of ranking conducted in the Republic by accreditation agencies of the IAAR and NAOCO; 2) according to the results of the rating conducted by NPP Atameken, the educational program "Materials Science and Technology of New Materials" took the 3rd place in the republic; 3) in general, according to the results of 2018, the university occupies: 6th place among multidisciplinary universities of the country according to the results of the National rating for innovation and academic excellence, conducted by the Republican rating agency; 8th place among the universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan according to the results of the National rating of the relevance of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, conducted by the IAAR; 7th place among multidisciplinary universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan according to the results of the National ranking of the best universities of Kazakhstan, conducted by NAOKO.
