A scientist from Paris, Marc Elie arrived in the regional center in order to study the projects of the research center "Altaytanu". Mr. Elie is engaged in research activities in the field of history of Central Asian peoples.

According to the guest, the purpose of his research is to analyze the impact of environmental disasters on the health of the local population. During his stay in EKU Mr. Elie plans to work on the author's French-German project: "Environmental health in the USSR and its successor states".

It should be noted that the scientist holds the position of Deputy Director of the "Research Center for the Study of Russia, Caucasus, Central Europe and Central Asia", which is a structural subdivision of EHESS. The Higher School of Social Sciences (EHESS) is one of the "Big Institutions" of France. Areas of research at EHESS focus on sociology, philosophy, history, political science, economics, anthropology, cognitive science, law, demography, linguistics, art theory and literature.
