"Dear friends! Dear teachers and students!

Today, the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivered a message to the people "NEW KAZAKHSTAN: THE PATH OF RENEWAL AND MODERNIZATION".

The staff and students of Amanzholov University listened together and discussed the progress of the new reform proposed by the Head of State.

Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich stressed that this message is of particular importance and he is entrusted with tasks that are not limited to one year. Most importantly, thanks to unity and harmony, our people, setting high goals for themselves, began building a new Kazakhstan together.

The new message has become a landmark for the sacred region, where the great poet Abai Kunanbayev was born.

A new region will be created in the east of the country – Abai. The center will be the city of Families.

For the population of the region, which has entered a new stage of development, these are, of course, new opportunities, horizons, goals and interests. Therefore, friends, we will work together on the development of the Abai region!

In general, the work on popularization of the heritage of Abai Kunanbayev is carried out in our educational institution on a systematic basis. Since 2019, the research institute "Abaytanu" has been functioning on the basis of the university. In addition, we have opened a center for Abai studies in Poland. Today, a special scholarship named after Abai has been established for our students, a lot of work is being done in this direction.

The tasks set in the Address of the President of the country are aimed at the development and strengthening of statehood, independence and sovereignty in general. Changes at the legislative level fully cover the Parliament, the Government and the form of Presidential government.

He answered many questions concerning the tragedy "January-2022". Guided by the principle of openness, the President noted that the responsibility before the law will be borne by both criminals trying to disrupt the peace of the country and commit a coup, and officials who used illegal methods of torture against detained citizens.

Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich also noted that the welfare of the people will improve only in a competitive environment, and he will certainly fulfill his sacred duty to the country so that our citizens have a happy life not tomorrow, but today.

As noted in the message, changes will be made to the electoral system. Now deputies who have not fulfilled their promises to the voters will not be allowed to vote. Elections in the district and the city are moving to a majority system. Party registration procedures will be significantly simplified.

And the President will not be a member of any party. Akims are also relieved of the chairman's position. In addition, for the position of akims of regions and cities of republican significance, the President must submit not only one, but several, at least two candidates for consideration by maslikhats. At the same time, in order to increase the role and ensure the independence of maslikhats, the position of chairman of the maslikhat is being introduced.

The scale of the work ahead is huge. We all understand this. The main thing is that we are starting the path to a new stage of development, guided by the principles of "A strong President, an influential Parliament, an accountable Government." Everyone should start with himself, putting the interests of the country above his own. We will be able to build a new Kazakhstan, because we have strong unity, high national spirit. And our Amanzholov University will work hard in educating the patriots of the country."
