S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University became one of the four educational institutions of the country selected to launch a new model of GPA. It includes research (IROS) and social activity (SSCI) of each student. This approach allows for comprehensive development of academic knowledge and personal qualities. A total of 887 students participated in the trial project.

Research competence is a set of knowledge and skills in conducting research and creating a new project.

Active social position means volunteer activities, participation in the social life of the university, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, participation in creative projects and popularization of the debate movement.

The new system of students' evaluation also implies material encouragement. Thus, the university awarded four personal scholarships, 11 monetary rewards for the publication of articles in international collections and 16 reimbursements for participation in scientific conferences.

Students were rewarded for their social activity with bonuses and 135 different benefits and discounts on tuition fees.

According to the results of implementation, the project has a positive effect on the formation of civic activity and involvement in scientific activities.
