The history of the Department
The Department of mathematics was based in 1969. During its existence the Department was headed by leading scientists: Teut O. M. – candidate of physico-mathematical Sciences, Professor; Kriul'ko S. A. – candidate of physical and mathematical Sciences; and Melent'ev, A. I. - candidate of physical and mathematical Sciences, Bazarbekov A. B. – candidate of physico-mathematical Sciences, Professor of East Kazakhstan state University.
After September 23, 2005 the departments of algebra and geometry and Department of mathematical analysis were unified. Joint Department titled as the Department of mathematics, the head of which was appointed candidate of physico-mathematical Sciences, Professor, Bazarbekov Ambergen Baijumanovich, scientific and pedagogical experience which was 41 years. In 2009 he was awarded by the title "Honorary Professor of S. A. EKSU". The Department of Informatics was formed as a result of division of mathematical modeling and computer technology department in 2005 and its head was Ph. D. Kubentaeva Sania Nurlanbekova and Ph. D. Temirbekov Nurlan Mukanuly.
Since September 17, 2009 the head of the mathematics department elected candidate of technical Sciences, associate Professor , Madiyarov Muratcan Nabenovich.
In November 2011 the Department of mathematics unified with the Department of Informatics and began titled as the "Department of mathematics and computer science". The head of the joint Department was Ph. D. of Madiyarov M. N.
Since September 20, 2013 the name of Department was again the "Department of mathematics", the head of which was a Ph. D. of Madiyarov M. N.
Since December 12, 2017 head of the Department of mathematics was appointed Phys.m.N., associate Professor of mathematics Ergaliev E. K.
The Department trains students on the following specialties:
- 5B060100 – Mathematics, natural-science direction, bachelor of science;
- 5V010900 – "Mathematics", teaching direction, bachelor of education;
- 6М060100 – "Mathematics", master of science;
- 6M010900 – "Mathematics", master of pedagogical Sciences on speciality "Mathematics"
